REVIEW our LATEST EXECUTIVE SUMMARY of THRIVE WORLD ECOSYSTEM (March 2024)
our future Depends on our young people.
when they are unleashed to thrive to their potential, we all thrive!
We’re excited to share our vision and for you take part in making it real |
The EIC team has deep experience with human and organizational learning, change, leadership, and transformation. We are working to nurture the next evolution of education as LEARNING ECOSYTSEMS that unleash human potential for ALL TO THRIVE. The new paradigm is deeply rooted in equity of access and opportunity to world-class learning experiences and coaches and collaboration action research and design to solve real-world compelling challenges.
The data is clear: Nevada's education system is not able to offer ALL our citizens - young and old alike - the opportunities they need to learn, grow, and thrive in our rapidly complexifying, digitizing, and globalizing world. The pandemic has only highlighted and exacerbated the inability of our current schools and government agencies to adapt and change to meet the multiple growing, converging crises we face - socially, politically, economically, and ecologically. EIC is poised to help bridge the gaps in the system, bring all players together into a collaborative ecosystem, and uplift all learners to rise to their full capacity to solve these challenges and create a vibrant future for ALL OF US! Simply put, we believe that when every citizen becomes a master of themselves - a self-directed, collaborative creator, community-builder, and visionary-designer of a brighter future - then collectively we can co-create enlightened social systems that inspire and empower all individuals and groups across the community to be all that they can be. EIC has coined a new term for this self-mastering and actualizing individual - a Self-Preneur*. Join us on this adventure of creating Thrive Learning Labs where Self-Preneurs are unleashed to have tons of fun learning how to THRIVE! |
Our programs support critical shifts
COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH AND DESIGN
All those involved with EIC work on real-world problems and challenges to learn, grow, develop, and co-create better selves and systems. They're led by groups of students who engage community members and other key stakeholders (parents, educators, counselors, coaches, employers, and leaders). Collaboration takes place on local, regional, and state levels. This is where our innovation zone program comes in. INNOVATION INCUBATION EIC nurtures and supports student-led teams and leaders on the ground who are pushing the envelope to prototype the next generation of student-powered collaborative learning - establishing the path to whole-system transformation. This is where learning labs come in. NEW LEARNING GOALS EIC aims to replace outdated achievement and performance criteria with demonstrations of competency and indicators of real-world success. We address this with our capacity development and portfolio system. Education is the foundation of all our social systems. How we reimagine and redesign education is a huge part of shaping our future. Let’s collaborate to shape a brighter tomorrow, for all, by all. |
The THRIVE EcoSystem
This is where powerful and transformative learning will happen; virtually and in person, individually and collaboratively. We envision developing the learning lab ecosystem in a 3-phase process.
The ultimate goal is a network of innovative learning centers across Nevada that serve all learners with world-class educational experiences no matter where they live or what local, immediate resources they have. Regional and town learning labs across the state will share research, education technologies, learning and accountability systems, and career development opportunities, as well as teachers, mentors, and community leaders.
The learning lab community centers will provide a fruitful crossover space between real-world community engagement, academic learning, and personal development as they serve two core functions:

The learning lab community centers will provide a fruitful crossover space between real-world community engagement, academic learning, and personal development as they serve two core functions:
- individual students, working with their peer cohort and personal coach team, develop and execute personal learning plans on their way to becoming a selfpreneur.
- small groups of students and larger classes engage, both virtually and physically, to work on real-world project challenges that integrate academic subject learning goals. These are blended learning experiences: they seamlessly integrate in-person and distance learning experiences.
All learning will be supported and guided by mentors and experts from a range of disciplines. EIC’s core value is to enable students to engage in interdisciplinary co-creative projects with professionals from across the community: artists and makers, business and civic leaders, community organizers, inventors and engineers, educators and academics, parents, and so on. All innovation comes from the fruitful intersection of different, divergent fields and points of view.
We’re excited to share our vision, hear about yours,
and collaborate on progressive change
